Who are we - ko wai tatou?

Prisoners Aid and Rehabilitation Services (PARS) is one of the oldest community organisations in New Zealand Aotearoa. We work with people in prison, released from prison, people deported from other countries and their family/whanau.

Our main focus is to help you set yourself up after being released from prison or detention so that you can live the life you want and feel part of the community that you live in.

We can help in a number of practical ways, including helping with accessing financial support, ID, bank account, IRD number, accommodation, employment and reconnecting with your culture and family/whanau. We’ll help you work out a plan and work with you on that plan. You are always in control. We can also find other organisations that can help you with part of your plan.

When you’re ready, we’ll take a back seat and let you do your own thing, but we’re always here for help if you need us.
